David
My life story began on January 18th 1978 in a small town of Ohio. I am the second of two children to my parents, Glenn and Nancy Town, sister Emily. We lived in Ohio for some unknown amount of time till we moved to Minnesota. Childhood memories don’t begin till my family moved to Wheaton Illinois when I was around 4 years old. Here, my dad took a teaching position at Wheaton College.
Dave's big catch!
I spent the majority of my life in this town. Sports and annoying my sister took up the majority of my time all the way through high school. Fortunately I was able to use soccer as a way to keep my interest in high school. When I wasn’t playing soccer I was working on one of my vintage Land Cruisers, Bronco or motorcycles. These toys served a big purpose in my life, keeping me in enough trouble to consider myself worthy to be a “Town Boy."

College brought on an extremely different lifestyle. Leaving behind the cold winters of the Midwest for the West Coast, I was often missed the adventures of off-roading. I attended Westmont College in 1997-2001, studying Engineering/Physics and playing soccer for the men’s team.
Dave's birthday party
I strongly believe that if it wasn’t for a couple close friends on the soccer team, the coaches and Physics Professors, I would have left the school and headed back home after a year. School only got better once I learned how to surf. Hardly do I ever sit back and wish I had gone to chapel instead of surfing.

After College I bounced around with a couple of different jobs. Finally, after an internship at a hedge fund company, I decided I wanted to work as a self-employed financial advisor. After a year of interning at a financial service office, I took my Series 7 licenses, passed and started work on my own.

Feeling the need to set myself apart from other financial advisors, I took classes at UCSB Extension to be able to sit for the Certified Financial Planner designation. Classes are over and studying has begun for my March exam.
The Bronco
This is where I met Iveta, Chelsea’s roommate and good friend. Several months went by without me ever meeting Chelsea.

After a while, Iveta got sick of me complaining about girls and decided to introduce me to her roommate. As far as our dating life is concerned, the rest is history.

Looking back, I see several times in my life where I have been faced with the unknown. If it wasn’t for the amazing love of my family and their support I wouldn’t be writing this. I couldn’t be more excited about the challenges that Chelsea and I face.
A Westmont soccer article with Dave
We are both working for our selves, training for a marathon, and as you know, getting married. All I can see is the unknown, and it is awesome. I now have a partner in crime.
